In the majority of TIVAR® 88 installations a steel leading edge protector is required around the top perimeter of the liner to prevent bulk materials from migrating beneath the panels. Leading edge protectors serve as a transition piece from the base substrate to the liner surface. Leading edge protectors can be purchased as a stock material for flat substrate installations or custom manufactured to conform to curved or radius surfaces. Leading edge protectors can be either bolted or welded on to the base substrate.
